Chocolate "protein" bites

This is not an entirely soy-free treat - candy must be removed to enjoy soy-free!
Chocolate "protein" bites - soy-free

I found these fun little protein bites on FoodBites Instagram page and in place of cocoa powder I used hot chocolate because it is what I had on hand. The candy is not soy-free, I have not found much-premade candy that is soy-free yet. However, the protein balls themselves are soy-free and egg-free!!

You can buy soy-free Hot Chocolate, here are a couple of good ones to try (Sillycow farms, Guittard Chocolate Mix, Coconut Cloud Hot Cocoa or make your own which is easy too. Hershey's Cocoa powder is soy-free.

Ingredients

1.5 cups oats

7 tbsp. soft butter

2 heaping TBSP Cocoa powder

candy corn (not soy-free added for kids school party)

yellow, red & orange chocolate Reeces Pieces

Directions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together. I used a food processor to ensure the dates were mixed evenly.

  2. Roll them into balls, I used a tablespoon to keep them the same size. Press them flat.

  3. Top with candy eyes.

  4. Add the Reeses pieces for the feathers and candy corn for the beak.

  5. Add candy corn (not soy-free) for the beak.

  6. You can replace the candy corn the Reeses if desired.

  7. ENJOY the Chocolate 'protein' bites
