SAAT Treatment

SAAT Treatment

Over the summer I was scrolling social media and came across a story of someone celebrating eating a donut with her friend who used to be allergic to Gluten. I reached out to this person and asked, how on earth she became not allergic to gluten anymore and that’s when she shared the info about Soliman's Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT).. I barely did any research because truthfully at that time I was so desperate for any hope of help I just called the place. They explained to me how it worked, however, I was still very unclear because up until the day of the appointment, I thought they dipped the needles in the allergen haha.

After getting on their schedule (she stays booked almost 2-months out) I started doing some research on SAAT. All the things I found were positive and very encouraging. “SAAT is a specialized yet simple acupuncture treatment where one needle placed in the ear can drastically reduce allergy symptoms by 80-95%.” Keep in mind, that this one needle is for one specific allergy, one needle will not cure all allergies. What I learned from this, was that there are certain pressure points in the ear that are connected to particular areas of the brain that are linked to the allergens. They use a tool to find and place the needles for each specific allergen! Yes, it’s mind-blowing and seems totally not real!!

Finally, my appointment day arrived, on August 23, 2023, and I drove down and back from Greenville, SC to Atlanta, GA on the same day for this procedure. I went with the hope of fixing (or lessening) my soy and mustard allergy. If she could do more than two, I was going to do egg. She did a full muscle test on me, which was absolutely WILD because I have never had one done before. The things she was discovering without me telling her were insane! Sadly, she added to my list of allergies. This is when I learned about my sulfite, histamine, and red wine allergies. She had no idea I was struggling with wine. I left there with 8 itty-bitty needles in my ear, but it didn’t hurt while she put them in. Due to the histamine issues, I had to wear my needles for 4 weeks instead of the standard 21 days. I was able to remove them on September 23, but I have been too nervous to try any of the foods I’m allergic to. I went ahead and set up an appointment with my allergist for mid-late October to do an allergy retest. Stay tuned for those results. Ahhh I am so nervous.
