Our oldest daughter suffered from a pretty serious peanut allergy when she was 1 year old. Her first try of peanuts caused hives all around the mouth and a huge and immediate response during the allergy test. It did get worse before it got better but now, she has outgrown it and can eat peanuts without a worry in the world!! The funny thing is, I never knew I had issues with peanuts until my allergy test summer 2022, which determined all the other allergies I now suffer with. So that was something we never even of thought to be conscious of when trying new foods with our babies. I do not know what symptoms they cause in me because I just avoided them from the moment I found out. Here is a list that my dietitian, Catherine Johnson MS, RD, provided me to help me navigate ingredients at the grocery store because hidden peanuts are in so many products.
