The Re-Test

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

If you have followed along, you have read about the last 16 months of my life, if not take a

peak back from the beginning. The crazy ride I’ve been on and how I have had to fight for my own health.

On July 26, 2023, I began Acupuncture at The Center of Bliss in an effort to help alleviate some allergy symptoms. I was unsure how that would even be possible but committed to trying anything at that point. I had also already made an appointment for a treatment called SAAT at The Tree of Life Healing Center in Georgia, with the hope of alleviating or lessening the allergies I was having. SAAT treatment has been known to cure Alpha Gal, (I do not have) but I have been hearing about this allergy A LOT lately so I figured I would share that part in case you're suffering with it!!The Re-Test

After 13 acupuncture treatments (I am not done and will probably never stop, we are currently in the process of ‘weening’ me off to more of a maintenance regimen) and 4 weeks with 8 needles in my right ear for the SAAT treatment, I finally went in for another allergy test at the Allergist, yesterday (October 23, 2023) and what I saw was too good to be true. Out of ALL of the allergies, the two that have been the hardest to navigate, and prayed to be gone or lessened, were showing up with ZERO reaction. Goodbye, Soy and Egg Allergies! WHAT!! Could you blame me if I told you I cried like a baby when I saw that!! After all of the treatments, advocating for my own health, doing my own research, changing the way I eat, and changing the way my family eats, I walked out of the allergist with no allergies to Soy, Egg, Peanuts, Watermelon, Cantaloupe or Navy Beans. I seriously can’t believe it. I still have several other food allergies but I am okay with those, for now ;-) As I write this, I almost feel like I took an “I don’t care” pill… I don’t know if it’s the weight of all of this coming off of me or if it’s the validation of these holistic treatments, but the fight for my health has truly paid off. What a day!

I wish I would have recorded the girl’s reaction when I told them. It was pure joy and excitement for them. They jumped up, screamed, dove into my arms, and wouldn’t let go. They were screaming, “Mommy you can eat at the Chocolate Shoppe again (my favorite cookie shop since I was a child),” “Mommy you can eat at Waffle House again” ... Priorities, right? HAHA. They were running to the freezer to get a slice of Chocolate Shoppe Cookie

My first nibble of a cookie.

cake we actually have on hand because Harper wanted one for her birthday, and the cookie monster (me) couldn’t eat it, so there were tons of leftovers. You better believe that will be one of the first things I try, if not the first haha. If I’m gonna go down, it's going to be with the Chocolate Shoppe chocolate chip pecan cookie cake in hand 😉

But in all seriousness, now comes the scary part, trying the different foods to see how and if I react. I don’t plan to change anything with how I am currently living because, truthfully, it has been wildly eye-opening, and I feel SO good and safe with what is going into my body. All this is going to do is open the door to hopefully get me back to the social butterfly I once was. This gives me the ability to go out to eat with friends and family without fear and be included in plans… if I haven’t been totally forgotten by everyone haha.

Stay tuned as I plan to share my updates as I try everything!

Happy Happy Day!!
